The content you’ll find here will be written from the perspective of a mobile marketeer, which is my profession. In every article I’ll try to give you an insight in how I think the mobile industry can profit from various innovations in hardware technology, applications and marketing. But that’s not all, if you’d like to get in touch, there are all sorts of buttons and widgets that tell you stuff about me and how to reach out to me. Enjoy!
I can hear you thinking: “Gosh, it takes a lot of nerves calling yourself a mobile guru”. I guess it does, especially in my native country The Netherlands, where too many people live up to the Dutch expression: “Act normal, then you’re already acting crazy enough”. Well, I don’t agree, I think that to have your share of success in this world, you need to speak up and be noticed. And that’s what I’m doing now, because I bet you wouldn’t be reading this when I just called myself Peter Evers (that’s my name by the way).
Let me give you a quick breakdown of the cool stuff I’ve done in my working life so far. I studied Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam and while I was studying I met my good friend Ernst-Jan, who basically inspired me to round off my study as quick as possible and get to work. During the last bit of studying I worked as a sales trainer at a non-profit company and joined Ernst-Jan’s blogging adventure on Spotlight Effect. After a short period we even were awarded as the best Dutch marketing blog.
To finish my study I did an internship at WebAds, the Dutch market leader in digital advertising, in the team that established the first mobile advertising division in The Netherlands. After a succesful internship I was motivated to kickstart my career in mobile marketing and moved to London to work for Unanimis, the British equivalent of WebAds. At Unanimis I really learned the ins and outs of mobile marketing, in a more mature market. After this great English adventure I decided to move back to Amsterdam to work at yoMedia, a mobile application startup, which is my where I spend my days right now.
